Porsche 964 Rear Spring Plate PFR57-107

Porsche 964 Rear Spring Plate PFR57-107

Porsche 911 (964) 1989 to 1993

Every Porsche 911 is special, but the 964 holds a particularly important place in the model’s history. It was the first all wheel drive 911, sharing its drive system with the legendary 959, and marked a significant step forward in chassis and suspension design.

A key part of this advancement was the innovative rear suspension system. The 964 uses semi-flexible rear spring plates that allow controlled rotation and yaw of the rear suspension arms. This design enables rear toe geometry to change under braking and cornering, improving stability and control.

After decades of use, the original steel spring plates often suffer from corrosion due to prolonged exposure underneath the vehicle. In addition, the encapsulated bushes and bearings wear as rubber seals split and allow water and debris to enter. The result is increased play in the rear suspension and a noticeable loss of precision and predictability in handling.

With original Porsche parts long discontinued, existing options are limited. Motorsport style adjustable arms with spherical joints are expensive and often unsuitable for road use. Replacement bushes require labour-intensive installation into old metal spring plates, while some aftermarket arms simply replicate the original design using standard bearings without offering any meaningful performance improvement.

Powerflex PFR57-107 Rear Suspension Spring Plates provide a complete, direct bolt-on replacement solution, combining durability, precision and compliance for both road and fast road use.
